Biography
María García Esperón was born in Mexico City and lives and works including the Hispanic American Poets Award for Children. Her novel Dido for Aeneas was selected in 2016 as the IBBY Honor List (Mexico). Her novel Querido Hijo: estamos en huelga (Dear Son: We're on Strike) was recognized in China's Herstory International Women's Book Award and in 2018 won the Batchelder Award for best translation of a children's book. She lives in Xalapa, Veracruz.
